Anyone who's never worked in a professional kitchen but has watched Gordon Ramsay on television may have come to the conclusion that the secret of a successful kitchen is to shout and swear at your staff - making them understand who's boss and creating a military-style, disciplined unit. After all, you can't leave the staff to get on with things themselves. We all know what would happen as soon as Head Chef and his big "F-ing" mouth was no longer in firm control of the kitchen, don't we? BT reminded us what would happen if Gordon stopped doing what he does best and tried to install a new phone:
It seems that even BT were embarrassed by this - it's not often that an advertisement is removed from YouTube for copyright infringement. After all - it's an ADVERT! The whole point of it is to be seen by as many people as possible.
If this was ever true of the Ramsay empire - and I know from my own experience at Boxwood Café and that of friends currently engaged in other Ramsay restaurants that F Word Action Man was always a greatly exaggerated caricature of El Gordo - the arrival of Clare Smyth and planned installation of an all-XX-chromosome crew at Royal Hospital Road will soon put a stop to that. No - a mere glance at Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares confirms that what Britain's most celebrated chef does best is managing the process of producing good quality, profitable restaurant food.
So what sort of warped mind would challenge this received wisdom? The answer - for those without access to Channel 4 TV, is Rory Bremner. Here's Rory's take on what would happen if Gordon Ramsay started doing what he does best in the kitchen - using his BT telephone to arrange new TV deals. Lol!

Rory looks more like Gordon than Gordon does. Did you see the reports of the opening in Prague? A Czech journalist told GR it was great to have Britain's second best known chef after Jamie Oliver open a restaurant in his country. Ouch! That must have really hurt.
