We've been experimenting with video technology in our house, as I want to be one of the first food bloggers in the world to show regular movie clips on my blogsite. Having mastered the art of downloading from YouTube (see my blog the other day, we've now managed to generate a video clip and upload it to Google Video so it can be presented on my blog and more widely viewed.
As a pilot, I filmed my dad impersonating the owner of Norwich City F.C., who reportedly does a bit of cooking in her spare time. The first attempt was out of sync, but the new format seems to be better. Here it is:
I plan to do some more serious video work, using the technology to simplify the presentation of recipes and to illustrate articles. Are we ready? Silence in the studio. Cameras roll. And.... ACTION!

2007 and moved to Spain, where I trained in Barcelona at Carles Abellan's Comerç 24 (which won its first Michelin star) and Martín Beresategui's Lasarte (which won its second Michelin star) and was chef de partie and later Pastry Chef to Paco Morales at the amazing hotel restaurant Ferrero in the Valèncian mountains. This Spring I returned to London as part of the team of celebrated Portuguese chef Nuno Mendes, opening East End restaurant Viajante. I'm still working with food, but taking a break from fine dining. Passionately pursuing my life-long ambition to become a top-class chef and, one day, a world-famous restaurateur.

hi i have just moved out of home because i got a new job and i am trying to teach myself to cook without relying on ready meals and micro chips. Are there any tips you can give me on eating easily and healthily, because work does not leave me much time.
The best way is to get together with friends who cook. This is also a good way to meet people. Start simple and learn some basic techniques. This website is a good introduction to techniques: http://www.reluctantgourmet.com/technic.htm.
Try also http://www.azcentral.com/home/food/cooking101 and the BBC food site http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/news_and_events/events_student1.shtml.
I'm a massive fan of Peter Gordon, whose salad dishes are easy to follow with ingredients you can buy in most supermarkets. Look on Amazon http://tinyurl.com/nkf4h for his books.
Assuming you are carnivorous, chicken is the best meat to learn to cook. You are less likely to make serious mistakes with chicken than with other meats.
Look on the internet and in your local bookshop for websites and books on "cooking for beginners", "simple cooking" and "student cooking". Dishes such as spaghetti bolognese, baked potato with fillings and salad, pasta bakes and chicken supreme are easy to cook.
I probably don't need to tell you that you need a balance of carbohydrate, protein and fat, with vitamins and minerals. Five portions of fruit and vegetables a day will keep you healthy, with tomatoes a very good ingredient to use for this because they're a familiar ingredient and are great for your health.
Good food does not have to take a long time to cook or be very difficult. And good ingredients can often be found cheaply. For instance, near me is Ridley Road market where fruit and veg can be bought late in the day for next to nothing. Be careful where you buy your meat and fish, though. And ALWAYS wash all raw fruit and vegetables/salads carefully before use.
Good luck, and enjoy your cooking.
thank you and i have to say i will be avidly watching out for the next installment
Hopefully I will be posting some real cooking videos soon, not just fatso* fooling around with eggs. Have you found any good recipes? ps. why do you wish to remain anonymous?

Absolutely right - you should never give out personal details over the internet that could be misused by people. What I meant was that it would be helpful if you adopted what the Americans call a "handle", i.e. a name by which you can be identified in future comments. Perhaps "homeleaver" would be good for you.
I also have a George Forman grill at home. Here's a recipe for a delicious meal that will only take minutes of your time.
Buy some chicken breast fillets when you see one of those special 2 for 1 or half-price offers in the supermarket. Bag them separately and put in the freezer. Get one out the night before you plan to eat and put into the fridge to defrost.
In the morning, cut into what are called "goujons". These are diagonal cuts about 3/4 cm wide and 5 cm long. Marinate them in a bowl with a covering of squeezed lemon juice, black pepper, finely chopped red pepper and a clove or two of chopped garlic. You may find recipes suggesting other ingredients for the marinade - try them.
In the evening, heat your George Forman grill to maximum heat and throw the chicken onto it. Close and cook for just a couple of minutes.
You can service these with anything - pitta bread or Turkish bread with a little crème fraîche would be excellent. Add some green salad and tomato. Even better.
Good eating.
Aidan,
great video, but there's a major omission: the egg should have been put under cold running water for 10 second or so in order tomake it easier to peel!
can't wait to see your dad appear on BBC Food!
He's got tough fingers. I will record my first video soon, promise!
